Corvus
FAQ

What certifications does Corvus hold?

Corvus surveyors hold or work toward EuroGPR Certified Surveyor status. The company is registered with industry PQQ schemes, holds full insurance, and works with UKAS-accredited laboratory partners for NDT testing.

Corvus operates to industry-standard credentials and accreditations. Here is the summary; for full details and current certificates, see our Accreditations page.

Surveyor competence

  • EuroGPR Certified Surveyor — Corvus surveyors hold or are working toward EuroGPR Certified Surveyor status, the European standard for individual GPR competence on construction work.
  • CSCS — surveyors hold valid CSCS cards at the appropriate level for the work they do.
  • PCN — for relevant NDT methods, where applicable.
  • IPAF / PASMA — working-at-height training where the work requires it.

Drone operations

  • UK CAA Operational Authorisation — all commercial drone work is conducted under our current authorisation.
  • Pilot competencies — current and documented for every flight.
  • Insurance — appropriate cover in place for every flight.

Concrete testing

  • UKAS-accredited laboratory partners — concrete cores extracted under our concrete-testing service are tested in UKAS-accredited laboratories. Lab certificates are returned in the project pack.
  • Method standards — work is done to BS EN 12504 series and related standards.

Utility and large-scale GPR

  • PAS 128 — large-scale GPR utility work is delivered to PAS 128 quality levels where the brief requires it. The deliverable explicitly states the achieved quality level.

Company-level credentials

  • CHAS / ConstructionLine / similar PQQ schemes — registered for use by main contractors and Tier 1 organisations.
  • Professional indemnity insurance — appropriate to the scale and risk of our work.
  • Public liability insurance.
  • Employer’s liability insurance as required by UK statute.
  • Documented method statements and risk assessments for every job.

Sector-specific competencies

For specialist sectors, additional credentials apply:

  • Rail — Sentinel cards and rail-specific competencies for rail-side work.
  • Nuclear and defence — vetted personnel and specific clearances on relevant projects.
  • Listed buildings — conservation-aware methods and engagement with conservation officers.

Calibration

Beyond formal certification, Corvus maintains:

  • Calibrated equipment, traceable to manufacturer references.
  • Calibration checks at the start of every session.
  • Calibration records included in every project deliverable.

How to verify

For any specific certification or insurance reference, ask. We supply current documents on request — including:

  • EuroGPR certification numbers.
  • Insurance certificates.
  • PQQ scheme references.
  • Calibration records on a per-job basis.
  • Sector-specific competency cards.

Our accreditations page covers the public summary. For specific verification needs (tender qualification, project-specific compliance, audit), contact us directly.

Why this matters

Defensible work rests on credentialled people, calibrated equipment, and documented methods. Corvus invests in all three because that is what produces deliverables that hold up under scrutiny — for engineers, insurers, regulators, and clients.
